BRC Food

BRC Food The British Retail Consortium (BRC) Global Standard for Food Safety is an internationally recognised seal of food safety, quality, and accountability. It is used as the benchmark for compliance with best practises in the food industry standards.

For food producers, farmers, and growers as well as for ingredient suppliers, BRC food safety certification may be advantageous.
Food manufacturers have high levels of assurance that their goods are safe, satisfy the quality standards of their consumers, and comply with legal requirements thanks to certification to the BRC Global Standard for Food Safety.

For almost 25 years, the industry standard has been the BRCGS Global Food Safety Standard. The standard has been adopted by more than 22,000 locations in more than 130 nations, and it is supported by 50% of the top 25 manufacturers, 60% of the top 10 quick-service restaurants, and 70% of the top 10 worldwide retailers.

The standard, which is currently in its 9th edition, has constantly changed to safeguard the consumer. The first standard to incorporate standards for a culture of food safety, identify food fraud, and lessen audit load through additional modules.

It was created with participation from the industry and offers a framework for managing product safety, integrity, legality, and quality as well as the operational controls for these criteria in the production, processing, and packaging of food and food ingredients.

Benefits of BRC Food Certification

The Global Food Safety Initiative’s (GFSI) main scheme, the Food Safety standard, is the one that specifiers, brands, and retailers most frequently choose.

Manufacturers with the BRCGS certification have a number of advantages when it comes to food safety, and studies have shown that they outperform both non-certified sites and those with other GFSI programmes. A compliance programme that gives control over the operational implementation of its certification programmes distinguishes BRCGS Food Safety from other certification schemes. This includes managing the performance of the delivery partner as well as managing the competency of the auditor based on tests and training in food safety.

Independent study by the University of Birkbeck shows that businesses that adhere to BRCGS requirements increase food safety, operational effectiveness, commercial expansion, better profitability, and broad-based customer satisfaction.

Our Process

Our certification partners shall conduct a third-party evaluation for BRC Food Packaging and provide a certificate after confirming that your organization complies with the requirements of the standard. This certification is then kept up to date by our certification partner by conducting annual surveillance audits. The BRC Food Packing standard is recertified every three years.
