Developed to manage food safety system certifications for businesses in the food chain that process or manufacture animal products, perishable vegetable products, products with a long shelf life, and other food ingredients like additives, vitamins, and bio-cultures, Food Safety System Certification 22000 (FSSC 22000) is a full-featured GFSI benchmark recognized food safety certification standard.

The Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI) and Accreditation Bodies all over the world fully recognize FSSC 22000.

A certification approach that may be applied throughout the whole food supply chain is provided by the Scheme. It may apply to industries where a technical standard for industry PRPs have been realized. The food chain category description from ISO/TS 22003 is followed by FSSC 22000.

This certification is then kept up to date by our certification partner by conducting annual surveillance audits. The Food Safety Management System is recertified every three years.
