ISO 22000:2018Food Safety Management System
ISO 22000:2018 is the international standard for Food Safety Management systems which is govern all the organizations that are involved in the food industry ranging from ‘Farm to fork’.
The main goal of a food safety management system is to guarantee that food is safe for eating. It accomplishes this by putting into practice the procedures you’ve determined are necessary for your operations as well as the procedures that the standard has indicated are necessary for ongoing improvement. An FSMS’ main goal is to guarantee compliance with all applicable legal, regulatory, and customer requirements. It also to ensure that there aren’t any food safety hazards in the food that is being consumed by the general population, therefore implementing strong frameworks to stay above the line of safety.
Regardless of scale or complexity, ISO 22000 is intended to be relevant to all companies involved in the food chain, including those that are directly or indirectly involved in one or more stages of the food chain. A Food Safety Management System that complies with ISO 22000 can be implemented and maintained by small and/or less advanced enterprises. Even smaller food companies can implement this, as it can go a long way in securing customer trust.
